The Utility Network (UN) model is the next evolution of Utilities GIS data management framework. Transforming DOU asset data to the Utility Network is a major change in data structure, data management, system integration, and DOU operational support and functions. The DOU GIS team has been researching, investigating, and communicating with other DOU Departmental staff about UN for several years and completed a UN Roadmap Plan in June 2025 to provide a framework for the UN implementation Project. This project will implement the Utility Network within the timeline without interruption to DOU operations. An experienced GIS consultant firm will be selected through the RFP process and will work with the City GIS team and other City staff to implement the Utility Network for DOU.
