Demolition and Excavation • Removing the existing concrete cap, riprap, and 36-inch CMP culvert segment. • Excavation and salvage of existing ripraps and soil for reuse. Temporary Works • Construction of a temporary cofferdam. Seepage Cutoff System • Installation of approximately 6,790 square feet of hot-rolled steel sheet piles. Backfill and Reconstruction • Placement of Controlled Low-Strength Material (CLSM) backfill around sheet piles. • Installation of geotextile separators and aggregate base as needed for stabilization. • Rebuilding the berm using imported fill and Caltrans Class I rock slope protection. • Construction of a new reinforced concrete cap over the sheet pile wall. Environmental Protection and Stormwater Compliance • Preparation and implementation of a SWPPP and erosion control plan. • Environmental monitoring during construction (biologist and environmental compliance oversight).
